中國民謠是中國音樂藝術的一顆奪目的明珠。歷史悠久，家喻戶曉，為炎黃子孫所重視。
本碟的中國民謠大部份都節奏鮮明、旋律輕鬆、歡快活潑，實在引人入勝。尤其是《鳳陽花鼓》，用以大鑼鼓的配樂，節奏強勁明快，喜氣洋洋；中段配以二胡的獨奏，旋律輕鬆愉快，描繪出一片融樂繁榮的景象。
《康定情歌》及《阿里山的姑娘》都是非一般的情歌：起初溫柔抒情，婉轉悠揚的樂段，竟轉為節奏強烈，充滿動感，烘托了熱烈的氣氛。
其他的歌曲如《在那遙遠的地方》、《踏雪尋梅》、《紅彩妹妹》等都是流傳甚廣的民謠。所有民謠主要運用中國樂器來配樂，由熊熊兒童合唱團主唱，實是出色之選。
